Biochemist or Biochemical Engineer
Carbozyme is seeking a highly motivated Biochemist or Biochemical Engineer to support the development of leading-edge CO2 capture systems in their Princeton, New Jersey location. This position offers a positive and empowering work environment with significant opportunities for learning and success. The right candidate will help build and deliver unique solutions to combat greenhouse gas production, mitigating the impacts of global warming. By contributing to the integration of several key technologies, you will help invent and commercialize platforms that will impact people and economies around the world.
Responsibilities: Focus on enzyme selection, optimization and immobilization. Contribute to the design, running and analysis of experiments, apparatus and systems. Read relevant literature. Be conversant with the key issues and methods in the field. Help to write grant applications, abstracts, papers, patents, task reports, develop slides for presentations. Communicate work progress in a timely manner.
Requirements: M.S. or Ph.D. with minimum of 3-4 years (1-2 yrs with Ph.D.) experience. Must be flexible, technically & scientifically aggressive, broadly read and open to ideas/concepts. Expected to challenge that which seems scientifically or engineering-wise questionable. A knowledge of enzymology is important. Oral and written communication skills are a must.

Travel requirements: Two to three meetings per year. Additional travel to subcontractors/partners may be necessary.
